2. How to use and create pages

In Workmaster, a page refers to a distinct screen within your app. A page is composed of various elements, such as widgets, text, images, buttons, and forms, arranged within a layout.

Each page has a page type, which determines where it can be used. The page type is selectable from the Properties Editor when the topmost item in the widgets tree is selected:

Types of pages

Th following types of pages are available:

Type of page
What its for
What it looks like

A normal page designed to appear inside page containers, directly inside a main or 'Frame' page of the app.

A small popup area that appears aligned next to some content on a page. Useful for displaying small amounts of information, or selecting one of many choices, such as navigation choices.

A big popup area that usually stays on screen and disables / blurs the original page while the dialog is visible ("modal dialogs"). "Non-modal" dialogs can be moved about the screen and resized - they are akin to 'windows'. Dialogs have a close button and resize handles (if non-modal)

A sliding popup area usually the full height of the visible screen, used for making navigation choices. Side panels are more common on phone / tablets.

Creating Pages

Pages can be created from scratch or based on templates, and they can be customized with different widgets to achieve the desired look and functionality. The Page Selector Panel is where you can manage, view, and edit all pages within your app, including the ability to select templates, name pages, and modify their content and design.

This module explains the different types of pages, their purpose and how to create and use each type of page within an app. Follow these steps to build your page:

1. Decide the Type of Page You Want to Create

Before creating a page, determine what kind of page you need for your app. Workmaster provides a variety of predefined templates that can help you get started quickly. These templates cater to different needs, such as dashboards, login screens, or blank layouts.

For a detailed list of the predefined templates available, refer to the Predefined Templates section in the User Manual.

2. Create a New Page

Once you’ve decided on the type of page, it’s time to create it. You can either select a predefined template or start from scratch with a blank page. To create a new page, follow the detailed steps outlined in the Creating a New Page section in the User Manual.
