Building your first app in 3 easy steps

Now that you're familiar with Workmaster’s core tabs, let’s walk through the three key steps to building a basic app. This app will focus on creating a clean, interactive design using just the Design, Page, and Run tabs, without advanced features like data models, bots, or workflows.

The process includes designing the visual identity, building the interface, and launching a preview-ready app.

Step 1: Design

In this step, you’ll use the Design Tab to define your app’s overall look and feel.

  • Upload your brand logo, set custom fonts, and create a color palette that reflects your visual identity.

  • You can also extract colors from an image and apply them directly to your design.

  • Once saved, these styles are applied across your entire app in real-time, ensuring consistency in appearance.

Step 2: Build

Next, move to the Page Tab to build the structure and interface of your app.

  • Create pages using existing templates or from scratch.

  • Add widgets such as buttons, text blocks, and images to the canvas using a click-to-place interaction.

  • Customize each element’s styling and layout using the Property Editor, and organize your components with the Widgets Tree.

  • Set up basic workflows in the Rule Panel to define actions, such as when a user clicks a button or loads a page.

Step 3: Launch

Finally, use the Run Tab to preview and launch your app.

  • The built-in simulator allows you to preview how your app will look on desktop, tablet, and mobile views.

  • You can also generate a public preview link or scan a QR code to view the app on a real device.

  • Once satisfied, your app is ready to go live, whether sharing it online or preparing it for mobile deployment.

This page provides a brief overview of the three key steps involved in building a basic application using the Design, Page, and Run tabs. More detailed guidance for each step will be covered in the sections that follow.
