Building your first app in 3 easy steps
Now that you're familiar with Workmaster’s core tabs, let’s walk through the three key steps to building your first basic app. This app won’t use advanced features like data models, bots, or workflows — instead, we’ll focus on creating a clean, interactive app using just the Design, Page, and Run tabs.
Your journey starts with designing the visual identity, building the interface, and finally launching a preview-ready app.
Step 1: Design
In this first step, you’ll use the Design Tab to define your app’s overall look and feel.
You can upload your brand logo, set custom fonts, and create a color palette that reflects your visual identity. You also have the option to extract colors from an image and instantly apply them to your design. Once saved, these styles update your entire app in real-time — giving your interface a professional, unified appearance across all pages.
Step 2: Build
Next, you’ll move to the Page Tab to start building the structure and interface of your app.
Create pages using existing templates or from scratch, then drag and drop widgets like buttons, text blocks, and images onto the canvas. Use the Property Editor to customize each element’s styling and layout, and organize your components using the Widgets Tree. You can also make your app interactive by setting up basic workflows in the Rule Panel, where you define what happens when a user clicks a button or loads a page.
Step 3: Launch
Finally, use the Run Tab to preview and launch your app.
The built-in emulator lets you see how your app looks on desktop, tablet, and mobile views. You can also generate a public preview link or scan a QR code to open your app on a real device. Once you’re happy with how it looks and feels, your app is ready to go live — whether that means sharing it online or preparing it for mobile deployment.
